Save Your Internet - Action Day 12th June

On 20-21 June, the European Parliament will vote on the Copyright Directive. Should Article 13 of the Copyright Directive proposal be adopted, it will impose widespread censorship of all the content you share online. Members of the parliament are the only ones that can stand in the way of bad copyright legislation. Tell them you need them to protect your Internet against surveillance and censorship machines!

Article 13 would restrict the ability of Internet users to consume content – meaning they won’t be able to find and enjoy diverse kinds of cultural expressions that they have grown accustomed to. The days of communicating through gifs and memes, listening to our favourite remixes online or sharing videos of our friends singing at karaoke might be coming to an end.
