Think The Unthinkable (TTU) ReportThe Report “Think the unthinkable - A post Covid-19 European Library Agenda meeting Sustainable Development Goals and funded through the European Structural and Investment Funds (2021-2027)” aggregates three reports already released by the EBLIDA European Sustainability House in the first half of 2020 (see at: Publications). All reports are based on direct input provided by our Members to various Surveys elaborated by the EBLIDA Secretariat. “Think the unthinkable” (TTU) is distributed in three versions and an infographic report.

TTU long and short versions explore how the socially inclusive and the digital library may meet European sustainable development goals; each objective is linked with a European Structural and Investment Fund specific objective.

The third TTU version – Summary Tables – allows for an easy grasp of an issue which seems to be complicated at first glance. In the infographics, each SDG is matched with a possible library project in Europe.

“It is very likely that the resilience and eventual survival of European libraries after the Covid-19 will not be left to the fittest, but to those libraries which will be able to innovate, cooperate, learn from others and be open to non-library actors.” said Ton van Vlimmeren, President EBLIDA.

The report ‘Think the unthinkable’ is certainly not a book of dreams – adds Giuseppe Vitiello, Director, EBLIDA - it is a list of best practices, an agenda for European libraries, and a practical Guide to European Structural and Investment Funds 2021-2027. And it is a way for EBLIDA to show how the unthinkable may come true in European libraries.”
