EBLIDA Response to the European Commission’s consultation "Content Online"

It is important for us that the law should be fair to non-commercial individuals and entities, and that it should be manageable. The exceptions to copyright are particularly important to us. Orphan works represent a resource which many libraries own and could exploit digitally for the public good if the law is changed. Read more >

07 September 2009The Google Book Search programme has the potential to provide public access to a digital library of millions of books. It will, fully developed, be an unprecedented source for the advancement of learning and human development. Google and representatives of rights owners and publishers have come to an agreement on how to settle the copyright and other legal issues in relation to the Book Search Project and EBLIDA hopes that this will be the beginning of a fruitful cooperation between them.
