Joanne Yeomans

Joanne Yeomans is British with a library and science background. Before joining EBLIDA in 2009, she worked in Switzerland for six years in the French-English bi-lingual environment of CERN, the European research laboratory for particle physics. At CERN she was responsible for the library and took part in extensive Open Access (OA) activities including organizing three international Open Archives Initiative (OAI) workshops. She was part of the small team that wrote CERN’s OA strategy, developing the institutional repository and drawing up the plans for the SCOAP3 project which is ongoing. Prior to that she was a science subject librarian at Leeds University in the UK where she also led the information skills training team. Since joining EBLIDA she has lived in the Netherlands where the EBLIDA secretariat is based. She wants to focus on improving communication within the organization and increasing lobbying activities during her 3-year tenure as EBLIDA Director.

Claudia started working as Office Manager for EBLIDA in March 2009. Previously she worked at several non-profit and research organisations in the Netherlands.
Claudia holds an MA in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), and a BSc in Social Science from the Open University in the UK.
Claudia is from Bogota, Colombia.
