The Europeana group comprises a number of projects run by different cultural heritage institutions. All are part-funded by the European Commission’s eContentplus programme. Over the next 3 years these projects will be contributing technology solutions and content that will create the fully operational Europeana.eu. Europeana v1.0 is a core project that will develop and implement a new version of Europeana with added functionality and give access to over 10 million digital items during 2010. The second phase of the project will see the launch in 2011 of a fully-operational Europeana.eu with improved multilinguality and semantic web features. The project is funded under the Commission's eContentplus programme. It's a Thematic Network that brings over 100 partners from libraries, museums, archives and audio-visual collections together. EBLIDA is part of the Workgroup 1.2: Licensing. The Europeana v1.0 Thematic Network started in February 2009. It is a 2.5 year project that will bring the Europeana.eu prototype to full service. |
