Global Libraries Foundation - Bulgaria conference 'Libraries today: 21 century skills'

The National Forum "Libraries Today" will be entitled "Challenges for libraries in the 21st century"
25 years after the UNESCO and IFLA Manifesto for Public Libraries. The forum will present the role of libraries in ensuring free and equal access to information, knowledge and culture for every citizen, as a place for personal and community development and for improving the quality of life. Special attention will be paid to the UNESCO and IFLA Manifesto for Public Libraries of 1994, whose 25th anniversary will be celebrated this year and how it has affected the mission, goals and activities of libraries in recent years, how it has affected the legislation and policies of state institutions with regard to public libraries. The event will be held under the patronage of the National Commission of the Republic of Bulgaria for UNESCO.
