Digitisation and Online access (archived)
Digitisation and online access has become an important question at the European level as shown in the Digital Agenda.
Issues related to the digitisation of library materials, as well as strengthening the access of all citizens' remain topics on which EBLIDA concentrates.
Therefore EBLIDA maintains a good general awareness of issues in relation to digitisation and online access across Europe, and disseminates relevant information concerning online accessibility to EBLIDA members. EBLIDA addresses the European Institutions, by making proposals and formulating position statements regarding online accessibility so as to improve the position of libraries and archives in Europe and the dissemination of online
content. EBLIDA cooperate and works with other organisations and institutions by, for example, sharing information and best practice.
EBLIDA is relying on its Expert Group on Digitisation and online access that is central to the lobbying activities of the organisation.
